The New England Ravens 13U AAU baseball team won the organization’s first New England championship last weekend by capturing a best-of-three series, 2-1, over the NH Warriors at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H.

With the series tied at a game apiece and the championship on the line, the Ravens and Warriors engaged in a seesaw affair in the finale. Jake O’Day, Lane LeClair, Samuel Franco and Cameron Raymond each had run-producing hits for the Ravens in a five-run fourth inning, but the Warriors constructed a big inning of their own in the fifth to tie the game at 11-11 before grabbing the lead, 12-11, with a run in the sixth.

In their last at-bat, the Ravens put runners on second and third for Franco, whose base hit to right field plated both runners to give the visitors a 13-12 lead, which proved to be the final score after LeClair pitched a scoreless bottom of the inning to clinch the title for the Ravens.

New England racked up 12 hits in the decisive win, with Sam Curtis, Mitch Cormier, Cameron Raymond and Franco each producing multiple hits for the Ravens.
